A Girls’ Baseball Initiave
Empowering girls to play the sport they love.
Our Name: “That’s A Girl”
Whether it’s walking through the parking lot to a game or while she’s grabbing her bat to head to the plate, almost every girl that plays baseball has heard “Is that a girl?”
And the answer is “YES, That’s a girl”. It has become sort of a mantra for fields where girls are playing the sport of baseball.
Ultimately, If girls’ baseball continues to grow at the speed in which it has for the past decade, the name “That’s A Girl” will lose its relevancy and we will all celebrate just being baseball players.
Our Founder: Grace Murray
Grace’s advocacy for girls’ baseball began at the very young age of nine when she cofounded the Philadelphia Liberty Girls Baseball team. She has since been a voice in her community for the development and support of girls and women in baseball. She appeared nationally on the Kelly Clarkson Show in October 2023 speaking on behalf of girls in baseball, “I want to be an inspiration for the younger female baseball community. I just want to let them know that baseball is a girls’ sport and they shouldn’t let anyone tell them what they can or cannot do.”
Our Logo
It started with a sketch in a notebook.
Founder, Grace Murray knew she wanted to design T.A.G.’s logo but never imagined she would go with her initial sketch. “I was playing with colors, layouts and player positions. I originally wanted the silhouette to be a catcher because I catch, but after thinking about it more, not everyone catches, but everyone does hit.” Deciding on the silhouette being a batter was more inclusive for all girls. This picture taken in 2023 was the inspiration for the silhouette
