Grace Murray: Founder
“I didn’t choose baseball, baseball chose me.”
On The Field
Grace Murray began playing baseball when she was four years old. By age seven she was recruited by her local Little League organization to play on their travel team. Over the years that followed she went on to lead her team offensively in addition to dominating as a Utility player. During her 6 year Little League career, Grace was a two time home run derby winner and the first girl to make the Pennsylvania Suburban Travel League’s All Star Team. Grace wrapped up her Little League career in the Summer of 2022 but not before playing at Cooperstown, where she hit 4 home runs and lead her team in all offensive categories.
Grace’s next accomplishment was in 2023 when she became the first girl to play middle school baseball in Central Bucks School District (the third largest school district in PA). Such a newsworthy accomplishment that ABC Action News covered the story. This year (2024) Grace will take the field once again playing for her Middle School catching, as well as pitching and utility when needed. Offensively Grace has built a reputation of batting clean up and is considered a power hitter.
Additionally, Grace is a two time MLB Development Trailblazer participant, MLB Grit participant and will participate in the Elite Development Invitational for 2024. As well, she has had the honor of representing the U.S.A. in Costa Rica 2022 and Hawaii 2024 and was recently selected for an Ambassador Program (18U) for this upcoming August 2024. Grace presently spends her weekends traveling and playing for 3 additional baseball teams, two of which are ‘all girl-women’s’ teams. Grace’s national and international experiences playing baseball have helped her grow as a player and find deeper connections within the baseball community.
Grace spends on average 5 additional hours per week training over/above team practices. During the offseason she commits to a strength & conditioning regime and works with trainers in catching, pitching and hitting. Grace has been fortunate to train with both past and present USA Women’s National Team players and feels endlessly grateful for each minute she has with all her trainers, coaches and mentors- She hopes to one day also inspire future baseball players the way they have inspired her.
Off The Field
Grace’s advocacy for girl’s & women’s baseball ‘off the field’ does not go unnoticed. She has been speaking out and up for girls and women in baseball for over 5 years. It started when she cofounded an all-girls baseball team to represent the Philadelphia area in 2019 (The Philadelphia Liberty). In which she appeared nationally on the Kelly Clarkson Show in October 2023 speaking on behalf of girls in baseball, “I want to be an inspiration for the younger female baseball community. I just want to let them know that baseball is a girls' sport and they shouldn't let anyone tell them what they can or cannot do”.
Additionally, in 2021, Grace spoke before her local Park and Recreation board to have the local township build a 60/90 field, in which a unanimous vote in favor of the field was brought to fruition for this upcoming 2024 season. Grace is very outspoken that it is her life’s work to support the younger community of girl baseball players.
Grace has said that taking the field is only half of her baseball journey. She believes it’s time to meet awareness with action & advocacy and she intends to be part of this movement.
